Coral Gables, Fla. –Bethune-Cookman's Ed'Ricus Williams, Summer Brown, and Barry Kimbrough each took home first place finishes in the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. The Wildcats also received 13 other top-5 finishes. The meet took place on the campus of University of Miami from April 8-9.
Ed'Ricus Williams (Warrenton, Ga.) cleared 7 feet, 0.25 inches, to take the gold in the high jump this Saturday.
Summer Brown took home the gold in a first place finish in the long jump. The senior, Brown leaped a distance of 5.79m setting a new PR.
Barry Kimbrough (Chicago, Ill.) was victorious this weekend while winning the discus throw with a distance of 50.30m. That mark also gave Kimbrough a new PR for his career.
Xavier Walton set two new PRs this weekend while competing in the 1500m and the 5000m Run. Walton placed second in the 5000m run with a time of 15:08.60.
Michael Tiller took a second place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 15.97m.
The Wildcats return to action on April 15-16 for the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta, Ga.
