GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bethune-Cookman extended its conference winning streak to six with a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader sweep of North Carolina A&T, 10-4 and 10-5, Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium.

Jameel Edney drove in five runs, and leadoff hitter
Demetrius Sims went 5-for-5 at the plate for the Wildcats (17-7 overall, 6-2 MEAC), who have reached double-figures in four of their last five games.

GAME ONE RECAP
Jameel Edney's two-run double in the first and three-run homer in the second set the tone as the Wildcats scored three runs in each of the first three innings en route to the 10-4 victory.

The yard shot to left was the second of the season for the West Palm Beach, Florida native.

Jordan Stacy had a RBI single in the first, and sophomore
Josten Heron a two-run single in the third along with an
Adonis Lao sacrifice fly to help the Wildcats take a 9-1 lead after three innings in the books. All nine Wildcat batters either scored or had a hit in the three-inning span.

Trent Nash closed out the scoring in the seventh when he doubled home
Kyle Corbin, who led off the inning with his second double of the game.

Freshman right-hander
Anthony Maldonado improved to 4-1 on the bump with the victory, scattering four hits while walking two and striking out three.
Bobby Stewart worked an inning and a third, while
Isaak Gutierrez closed things out with a scoreless ninth.

GAME TWO RECAP
Danny Rodriguez's two-run homer triggered a six-run third inning as the Wildcats pulled away from a 2-2 tie for the doubleheader sweep.

North Carolina A&T (10-11, 1-4 MEAC) evened things up with Kyle Clary's two-run dinger in the second. After Edney led off with a double down the left field line, Rodriguez jacked the first pitch to left to put the Wildcats back in the lead in the top-half of the following frame.

Nash doubled home Corbin; Sims smacked a two-run triple; and Lao had an RBI single as the Wildcats sent 10 batters the plate in the inning.

Stacy's two-run single gave Bethune-Cookman a 2-0 lead in the first.
Â
Sims picked up his third RBI of the game in the seventh. He and Nash each finished the nightcap with three hits.
Â
Tyler Norris improved to 3-0 on the hill, giving up seven hits and striking out two in four innings.
Joseph Calamita had three innings of one-hit relief.

The two teams meet back for the series finale Sunday at 1 p.m.
