DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With wind gusts reaching 30 miles per hour throughout the morning and early afternoon, heavy storms moved into the Volusia County area rapidly to halt Wednesday's women's tennis match between Bethune-Cookman and Edinboro (Pa.) at Derbyshire Park.
No makeup date is expected for the match.
Despite trailing 2-1 in the match at the time of the weather impediment, Bethune-Cookman led in two singles matches – both of which were in the second set, respectfully.
The Wildcats now turn their attention to the season's first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Pod event beginning Friday, March 7, on the campus of Alabama State in Montgomery, Alabama. B-CU will take on Alcorn, Prairie View A&M and Alabama A&M over the course of the weekend.
