BETHUNE-COOKMAN NOTES
Bethune-Cookman comes into the weekend with an 0-4 record but having grabbed positive momentum in every match thus far on the season. Janet Imbo Nloga was recently named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week after going to three sets in her match against Mercer at the No. 2 position.

The Wildcats will be playing their first road match of the season away to Eckerd, before traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on February 15, taking on SWAC opponent Alabama State ahead of the first SWAC Pod of the season hosted by Southern University.

BCU uses freshman Jalayah Shaw from Plant City, Florida at the No. 1 singles spot, while Imbo Nloga holds down the No. 2 singles position for the Maroon and Gold. In doubles action, it's been the duo of Allexii Bassette and Shaw at the No. 1 spot this season.

LAST TIME OUT
Bethune-Cookman Women's Tennis dropped a challenging match to visiting Mercer, as the Wildcats fell by a 7-0 score line at Derbyshire Park.

Bethune-Cookman saw Janet Imbo Nloga fight hard at the No. 2 singles position for the second day in a row. The freshman from Irvine, California went to three sets for the first time this season, dropping a thrilling 1-6, 6-4, 3-10 decision to Mercer's Marina de Diego Quinones. With the match already decided, the third set was played as a tie-break. At No. 3 singles, Allexii Bassette dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Mariella Minetti in straight sets. But it was Bassette, a sophomore from Miami, taking games in each of her sets for the first time this season.

Mercer claimed the No. 1 singles spot with a 6-1, 6-0 win by the Bears' Teodora Ristic as she took down BCU freshman Jalayah Smith. In doubles action, the Bears took both the No. 1 and No. 2 positions with 6-0 decisions. In other singles play, Loncey Elie and Courdeja Clark also took part for the Maroon and Gold.

SCOUTING ECKERD
Eckerd comes into the match having won its season opener Thursday evening at home to Florida National, 5-2.

The Tritons are led at the No. 1 spot by Kylie Misdorp, a junior from Durban, South Africa. At the No. 2 singles spot, it's Ericka Chavarria (San Jose, Costa Rica) for Head Coach Ben Maxwell – a 2011 graduate of Eckerd, now in his 10th season in charge of the program. In doubles play, the Tritons field Catherine Cole (Fort Smith, Ark.) alongside Chavarria for top flight action. Meanwhile, Misdorp joins Maya Soligo (Montreal, Quebec) for No. 2 doubles play.
