Charles "Toby" Golden was a three-sport standout for the Wildcats, playing three years on the football and basketball squads and two years on the baseball team.
The Tampa native, a product of Middleton HS, was a two-time Southeastern Conference basketball team selection and was named Bethune-Cookman's 1950 athlete of the year.
He married Yvonne Scarlett, a member of the Wildcats' women team who went on to become Mayor of Daytona Beach.
