Credited with establishing the Wildcats' competitive baseball program, John Knight assembled a squad that dominated the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and set the tone for Bethune-Cookman’s prominence in college baseball.
During Knight’s tenure, B-CC won four Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles. His 1972 team won 20 consecutive games, with that 20th coming against arch-rival Florida A&M.
He stepped down in 1979 after compiling a 119-104-3 mark.
